Valcamonica Italy, Rock Art Fieldwork – July/August 2006
A rare opportunity to gain hands on experience of Rock Art Fieldwork in this beautiful alpine valley region of northern Italy. All those attending will survey, excavate, clean, photograph, draw and catalogue the rocks engraved with figures of the Rupestrian tradition dating from the Palaeolithic to the arrival of the Romans. Also included are evening classes (“How to Date Rock Art” etc.), guided visits to other sites and all materials and instruction. The field school is for 7 days followed by 2 further days of exploring the archaeology of the region.

Archaeology Safaris Ltd is run by Archaeologists, each field
school will be led by experienced and knowledgeable tutors,
who are specialists in their chosen area of research.
Archaeology Safaris provides the organisation for all travel
requirements and the day to day itinerary. You can get involved
as an individual or as an organisation and either attend one
of our Field Trips,
Field schools or become part of an
Expedition.
You may prefer a bespoke field trip and to specify a period
and destination that suits your area of interest. Please contact
